More than a hundred entries battle it out for championship berths in the World Slasher Cup as the two-cock semifinal round gets under way today and tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum.
A highly anticipated clash among the fancied bets is in the works in the bi-annual derby tournament, the biggest in both the local and international cockfighting circuit, which lured champion gamefowl breeders from all over the globe. The World Slasher Cup Invitational eight-cock derby is hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions and sponsored by Thunderbird Power Feeds and Sagupaan Complexor 3000.
The event drew the most number of entries in its history, extending the duration of the first round of eliminations Monday. The four-cock championship will be held on Saturday.
Weight limits for all entries are at the minimum of 1.9 kg and maximum of 2.5 kg. (4 lbs. 3 oz. to 5 lbs. 8 oz.)
