Tigresses stay spotless in UAAP women's football

MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas carved out a  3-2 win over University of the Philippines to remain on top of the UAAP Season 80 women's football table on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Maroons struck on the opening minute courtesy of a Blessie Perez before Hazel Lustan and Mary Indac found the back of the net for the Tigresses to take the lead.

An early second-half goal by Shela Cadag gave UST a 3-1 advantage and never looked back.

The Tigresses now have a maximum of nine points.

Nicole Andaya came through via a 50th-minute header as defending champion De La Salle rebounded from last Wednesday's loss to UST with a 1-0 victory over Far Eastern University.

The Lady Archers moved to solo second with six points, while the Lady Tamaraws remained at four points.
