4 more teams make Maharlika debut in Malolos

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines —  Four more teams make their debut in tonight’s double header of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta Rajah Cup which bring its act to  Malolos, Bulacan.

Gary David and the rest of the BaiShipping Bataan Defenders take the floor at 7 p.m.  as they battle the Quezon City Capitals in the first  game to be followed by the match between the host team Bulacan Kuyas and the Imus Flag Capital in the main game at 9 p.m.

A former multiple scoring champion, David is raring to get back to action, this time representing his hometown province.

The 6-foot-2 pride of Lyceum will be playing for the first time since last seeing action with the Mahindra Floodbuster in the PBA last season. He is expected to carry the firepower for this team up north against a Quezon City squad that is also aching to get into the win column.

Aside from David, other notable players seeing action for Bataan are ex-pro Arvie Bringas and former Perpetual Help standout Khiel Misa.

But David isn’t only the big game taking center stage tonight as comebacking center Marlou Aquino will be playing for the Bulacan Kuyas.

The 6-foot-9 Aquino, who is now 45 years old, will be playing competitive basketball for the first time since last seeing action for the Barako Bull Energy eight years ago.

But Imus is one team that wants to prove something and with a line up that is anchored on bruising frontliners like Jessie Saitanan and Jeffrey Tajonera, expect the Flag Capital to come out physical.
