Solon bats for BOSS Ironman in Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — Inspired by the continuing success of the BOSS Ironman Challenge, House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Rep. Ferdinand Hernandez has called on the organizers of the annual event to hold a similar endurance race in the South to further boost moto tourism in the region.
An avid motorcycle rider, Hernandez graced the awarding of the certificates to the Ironman “Finishers” at the Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga after the 1,300-km endurance run at 10 historic and scenic provinces in the so-called Northern Luzon Loop.
A total of 560 cars and motorcycles with big engine displacements took part in the country’s premier endurance challenge.
“For 13 years, the Ironman Challenge was always held in Luzon,” said the legislator from the Second District of South Cotabato. “I think the Ironman also owes it to the riders from Visayas and Mindanao. They rode and came all the way here from the south to join.”
