MANILA, Philippines — Bohol native Lando Pormento Bago trooped to the Philippine Arena hoping that Barangay Ginebra gives him a Christmas Day treat in the form of a win.
After 48 minutes of basketball action, he got just that. And more.
Waiting for his hooping hero just outside the locker room, draped in LA Tenorio threads, it was actually Bago who figured as a treat to everybody—even to the cager himself.
“Maraming nagsasabi sa akin na kahawig ko nga daw si Lewis Alfred Tenorio,” the now Bulacan-based fan said.
“Simula noong lumuwas po ako [patungo] dito sa Maynila,” he went on to reply when asked since when he was a Gin Kings fan. “Makapag-papicture man lamang sa unang pagkakataon sa ating idol.”
And when Tenorio emerged from the dugout, the Ginebra guard could only laugh and joke about sight of a dead-ringer.
“Oh, sikat ka ngayon!” he said with a chuckle.
