Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Carlo Biado led the march of four Filipinos into the Last 32 of the 2017 World 9-ball Championship after convincing victories to start the knockout stage yesterday at Al Arabi SC in Doha, Qatar.

Reigning World Games titlist Biado hacked out an 11-6 disposal of Swedish Daniel Tangudd to progress to the next round, where he was joined by compatriots Warren Kiamco, Jeffrey Ignacio and Francisco Felicilda.

Kiamco and Ignacio hammered out identical 11-4 disposal of Chinese Kong Deijing and Hong Kong’s Lo Ho Sum, respectively, while Felicilda beat Japanese Naoyuki Oi, 11-7 to advance.

Biado next faces Polish Tomasz Kaplan in his bid to move forward to the Round-of-16 while Kiamco seeks the same against Taiwanese Lin Wu Kum, and Ignacio and Felicilda engage in all-Filipino battle in the Last-32.

Seven Pinoys actually made it to the KO rounds.
