Standhardinger unloads 40 pts as HK trims Thai 5

MANILA, Philippines — Fil-German Christian Standhardinger banged in 40 points and hauled down 17 rebounds to power Hong Kong Eastern Sports Club past Thailand’s Mono Vampire,112-105, in the Asean Basketball League last night at Mono 29 Studio in Bangkok.
In a dominating performance, Standhardinger made 15 of his 20 tries and laced his monster output with five steals and three assists to lead HK to its third straight victory.
Standhardinger fired seven points in the final three minutes to seal the deal and stop the Thai team’s three-game winning streak.
Marcus Elliot, Tyler Lamb and Lee Ki backed up the incoming PBA rookie with 19 each.
Reginal Johnson topscored with 31 for Mono, which dropped to 3-2 overall.
