Standhardinger looking forward to ABL showdown vs Parks, Alab
MANILA, Philippines — Christian Standhardinger is well aware of Ray Parks Jr. putting in the work for their ABL showdown this weekend.
“I know he’s working hard, so I should be working hard, too,” the Filipino-German big man said of their upcoming tussle.
Standhardinger’s Hong Kong Eastern Sports Club, ABL’s defending champion, will be taking on Parks Jr.’s Tanduay-Alab Pilipinas in the latter’s season-opener this Sunday at the MOA Arena.
“I can’t wait for the fans [to come] out and show the Filipinos a great game,” the multi-time Gilas center said during HK Eastern’s tuneup game with the NLEX recently.
“I feel I have a great team,” he added. “We did amazing. We Won by like 13 so that’s already a statement, I feel.”
“I feel confident with my own skills and I think I did well, and we did well as a team,” Standhardinger, whose team won over Kiefer Ravena and the Road Warriors, 86-82 added.
