MANILA, Philippines –  De Ocampo Memorial College squeaked past Colegio De San Juan de Letran, 81-75, in the 25-Under Division of the Milcu sports Basketball Presents Got Skills Premier League last Saturday at the Lyceum Gym in Manila.

The DOMC Cobras rallied in the fourth period behind Jonard Clarito, who led the team with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists over Letran Team B. The Intramuros-based squad featured a few college and high school stars in Larry Muyang (La Salle), Christian Fajarito (College of Saint Benilde) and Norrish De Capia (San Beda High School).

It was a tough loss for Letran, which led for much of the game only to lose steam in the end.

In other Got Skills matches, the University of the Philippines continued to ride Bright Akhuetie’s hot hand to crush La Salle’s Team B, 55-36. The Nigerian got a lot of help from former San Beda Red Lion Ritchie Villaruz, who led the Fighting Maroons with 17 points. Akhuetie added 14 points to go with 8 rebounds to pace the 25-under Division.

La Salle was led by Taane Samuel, who is slated to replace Ben Mbala in the UAAP lineup next season, with 13 points.

One stunning result from the weekend matches was National University’s juniors squad eking out a hard-earned win over the seniors Team B, 82-79.

The Bullpups’ Miguel Oczon topscored for the match with 32 huge points while national teamer Rhayyan Amsali added 17.

Former Ateneo Blue Eagle Shaun Ildefonso, who transferred to NU this past season, led the Bulldogs with 21 points while Marc Diputado added 12.

The Bullpups are competing in the 25-Under Division in preparation for the UAAP season that tips off this November.
