MANILA, Philippines — With the ongoing season nearing its close, the spotlight is slowly moving to the new PBA year.

Led by top prospects Christian Standhardinger, Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng, the pool of 45 PBA hopefuls will have a chance to flaunt their wares when the 2017 Draft Combine kicks off Monday.

The multi-day showcase, which spans for two days at the Gatorde Hoops Gym in Mandaluyong City, will be divided into two legs.

Various anthropometric exams — which will measure physical attributes such as height, wingspan, weight and standing reach — highlights the first day. Also in the opening phase of the combine will be myriad skill tests.

The second day of the showcase will feature a mini-tournament that will pit the recruits against each under the watchful eyes of the 12 PBA teams’ coaches and staff.

The Rookie Draft is on October 29 at the Robinson’s Place in Ermita, Manila.
