CKSC, Hope seal FCAAF title duel

MANILA, Philippines — Chiang Kai Shek College and Hope Christian High School crushed their respective semis rivals to arrange another title clash in Division A of the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) at the Philippine Cultural College gym last weekend.

Led by John Galinato, Jason Celis and Allan Beltran, the CKSC Blue Dragons clobbered the Paco Citizen Foundation side, 74-56, while Hope Christians outlasted Manila Patriotic School, 66-55, behind the heroics of Harvey Pagsanjan and Mac Chester Jacob.

Galinato fired 14 points while Celis and Beltran combined for 20 points to lead the six-peat seeking Blue Dragons to victory in the event sponsored by Freego. “It’s going to be another exciting finale, both Chiang Kai and Hope Christian have a storied rivalry,” said league chairman Daniel Ong.

Grace Christian College and Philippine Chen Kuang High School, meanwhile, won their rubber matches in Division B.

In a closed-door knockout match, Joshua Jugar exploded for 33 points as PCKHS outlasted St. Peter Apostle School, 82-80, to set a title date with GCC, which beat Jubilee Christian Academy, 61-57, with Mascus Nathan Lu scoring 25 points.

Meanwhile, CKSC and St. Stephen’s HS forged a title clash in Developmental division with the Junior Blue Dragons scoring a 60-35 over GCC and the Stephenians blowing past St. Jude Catholic School, 60-33.
