Meralco's Durham crowned PBA Best Import anew
MANILA, Philippines — Another year, another citation.
The Meralco Bolts’ Allen Durham snared the PBA Best Import award before Game Two of the Governors’ Cup finals Sunday night at the Big Dome.
The 29-year-old American was the runaway victory for the individual plum after besting three others.
Barangay Ginebra’s beloved reinforcement Justin Brownlee — also a returnee — was at far second with 834 total votes.
The award is Durham’s second citation after winning during his tour of duty with the Bolts last year.
TNT KaTropa’s polarizing cager in Glen Rice Jr. was third in the race with 574 votes.
San Miguel Beermen’s Terrence Watson, who was the team’s the third import after Terik Bridgeman and Wendell McKines, earned 482 nods.
Durham currently leads the imports’ tally in rebounds (19.4) and assists (7.1). At the other end of Brownlee’s picturesque shot that won the title in last year’s finals, the 6-foot-6 big man is looking to give the Bolts its first-ever PBA title.
