The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two of the grandsons of the late boxing great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde slug it out with Indonesian fighters tonight as big-time boxing returns to the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat.

International boxing promoter Johnny Elorde, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Manila, has lined up a triple-main event card featuring WBO lightweight Oriental champion Juan Martin “Bai” Elorde against Arief Bladder and Juan Miguel “The Boss” Elorde versus Afrizal Tamboresi.

Bai Elorde is currently rated No. 7 in the world while Mig Elorde is at No. 5 with the event serving as part of the Elordes’ buildup for their title defense in December.

In the other main event, Philippine bantamweight champion Glenn Suminguit faces top contender Renoel Pael.

In other bouts, Claude Van Sese clashes with Robin Dingcong (8 rds.-123 lbs.), Wilbert Berondo tangles with Jayar Diama (8 rds.-115 lbs); Arvin Magramo mixes it up with Alvin Defeo (6 Rds.-109 lbs.), Monico Laurente squares off with Menard Zaragoza (4 rds.-129 lbs.), and Delmar Pelio collides with Edward Aguas (4 rds.-119 lbs.).
