Dragons eye rebound against Gold Gears

MANILA, Philippines — Diliman College hopes to get back on the winning track as it battles struggling Bulacan State University in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 2 at Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque today.

Reeling from a 19-point blowout loss to the unbeaten Colegio de San Lorenzo Griffins last week, the Blue Dragons try to rebound strong coming off a long break as they collide with the Gold Gears at 2 p.m.

“We’re coming off a week-long break and that’s enough for them to ponder what went wrong the last time out and make the necessary adjustments,” said Diliman College coach Rensy Bajar.

The Gold Gears, in contrast, are out to snap their two-game skid, including a 68-79 setback to the Rod Ebondo-less CEU Scorpions last Thursday.

Blue Dragons top center Adama Diakhite is expected to lord it over the relatively small Gold Gears frontcourt with Joseph Brutas, Rey Bauzon and comebacking Rickson Gerero providing the needed backup.
