Falcons, Bullpups book wins in Fr. Martin cagefest
MANILA, Philippines — The Adamson Falcons and the the National University Bullpups won over separate foes last Saturday to move within reach of semifinal berths and quarterfinals slots in the senior and junior division games  of the 15th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament.
 
The Falcons, with Conrad Catapusan making 19 points, disposed of the College of St. Benilde Blazers, 92-84, in Group B of the senior division at the St.Placid gymnasium of the San Beda-Manila campus in Mendiola.
 
With their 5-1 win-loss slate, the Falcons are now within reach of a semis seat in this cagefest supported by Slick Tight Hair Pomade.
 
Transferees Gerry Abadiano and Carl Tamayo  fired 16 points each in leading the NU Bullpups to a 90-81 beating of the Diliman Preparatory School Baby Blue Dragons.
 
The Bullpups went on to post their fourth triumph in five games, and this put them in contention for a quarterfinals seat in Group of the junior division,
 
In other junior games,  St. Michael of Laguna won over Far Eastern University, 82-80, for their first win in six matches in Group B.
 
Benedict Alagde hit 20 points for San Beda-Manila B in their 93-40 demolition of San Beda-Rizal A, and they improved to 2-3 with the victory in Group B.
 
In Group A, Iverson Petros fired 23 points to carry Rich Golden Shower Montessori School to a 93-77 stopping of San Beda-Rizal B, to improve at 4-1 in Group A.
 
Earlier, Jade Talampas made 26 points in leading San Beda-Rizal A to an 88-42 crushing of St. Michael to hike their record to 5- 1.
 
The Letran Knights won over the NU Bulldogs, 83-79, in another senior clash.
