Eagles swoop down on Tams for 3rd straight win

MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila University rolled to its third-straight victory at the expense of Far Easter University, 94-82, in the nightcap of Sunday's UAAP action at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles looked sharp from the get-go, tallying 34 points to oppose the Tamaraws' 22. Anton Asistio registered 10 points while Thirdy Ravena chimed in nine more to help erect an early lead over the hosts.

Ravena was pedal to the metal until the final buzzer, making his presence felt in all four phases of the game. He wound up with 18 points to go with 11 boards to lead his team in the both departments.

Asistio finished the game with 16 points while Mike Nieto and Vince Tolentino also shined with their respective double-digit contributions in 11 and 10.

The Blue Eagles seemed to be in auto pilot after opening the game with a convincing rout of last year's dark horse in Adamson University. They made mincemeat of their avian counterparts with a 20-point rout. They then rained on University of the Philippines' parade, dominating their Katipunan neighbors by 21 markers.

The Tab Baldwin-mentored crew will look to keep their unbeaten start when they take on University of the East — who are still looking for their first win in three outings — next Sunday.
