NBA 2K18 Asia tourney stakes $10K prize
MANILA, Philippines — A total of $10,000 (approximately Php509,000) is at stake in the NBA 2K18 Asia Tournament.
PlayStation Asia announced Thursday that the esports tournament will be back with local qualifiers happening across Asia in Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, China and the Philippines.
The top two players from each country will fly to Taipei for the Grand Finals.
The champion will walk away with $6,000 while the first, second and third runners up will receive $2,500, $1,000 and $500, respectively. All participants must be above 18 years old and own a valid passport.
Last year, a Filipino, Custer George Alas, won in the finals against Taiwan's ChihChung Huang.
The NBA 2K18 Standard Edition will be available in the Philippines for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on September 19.
The Legend Edition and Legend Edition Gold will be available on both digital and physical formats for PS4 and Xbox One.
