Organique bet tops Ironman age group

MANILA, Philippines - Glenn Gonzales bucked the odds and ruled the 50-54 age group division, leading Team Organique’s impressive campaign in the Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Championship at the Shangri-La Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu recently.

Gonzales clocked 43:41 minutes in the swim leg, 2:34:06 in the bike race and closed out with 2:01:35 clocking in the run stage for a 5:25:57, beating Philip Mortlock (5:33:29) and Siegfried Pittet (5:38:27) for top honors in the men’s 50-54 age category.

Gonzales is one of the 18 members of Team Organique who took part in the individual and team relay race categories of the 1.9km swim- 90km bike-21km run event.

Naune Mijares placed fourth in the men’s 25-29 group while Kristiane Lim wound up fifth in the men’s 30-34 age bracket.
