MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao in principle has agreed to face Australian Jeff Horn in November in a rematch of their action-packed and highly-controversial bout last July 2 before more than 51,000 fans at the Brisbane Stadium.

Earlier yesterday, word from Brisbane was that the City Council has pulled the funding for the rematch until organizers got the assurance from the Filipino senator that he would fight in Australia later this year.

Then Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk spoke to the Australian press later in the day, saying that the rematch is going to happen.

“It will be on,” he said in an interview with Australian media outlet 4BC.

“I can say now having a commitment from Duco Events and Top Rank that Manny Pacquiao will definitely be in Brisbane later this year to fight Jeff Horn,” added the Lord Mayor.

“The arrangements and conditions and terms are going to be worked through and hopefully very quickly now. But it will definitely happen,” he added.

“There is certainty now that Manny Pacquiao will be definitely here to fight,” said Quirk.

Pacquiao, who will turn 39 on Dec. 17, will be out for revenge when the rematch happens on Nov. 12, the date earlier mentioned by Top Rank chief Bob Arum.
