Dizon posts 3rd Petron karting win-in-row

MANILA, Philippines - John Dizon scored his third straight win, ruling Round 4 of the Petron ROK Karting Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite recently.

Dizon ace repeated over Japanese ace Takaharu Nakamori of Apex Racing, whom he also beat in Round 3, as the Edgesport Racing ace grabbed the overall solo lead in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.

Dizon posted a 9.422-second margin over Mikey Jordan of Apex Racing to capture the ROK Senior Overall Blaze 100 crown. Nakamori took an early exit with still five laps to go in the 20-lap Final race of the event sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama, the official tires.

Jenn Tumambing, also of Apex Racing, checked in third while Gabrielle Garcia and Aeromed Racing Team’s Juan Diego Macapagal finished fourth and fifth overall, respectively.

Dizon also copped the ROK Novice Blaze 100 title over Jordan and Garcia; Tumambing emerged the ROK Expert Blaze 100 winner over Nakamori; while William Tan clinched the ROK Veterans Blaze 100 plum over Ephraim Mandal.
