MANILA,  Philippines — Danny Kingad will have to wait again.

The Team Lakay member’s bout against Hexigetu of Mongolia has been scrapped from ONE Championship’s “Quest for Greatness” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

According to the Baguio City stable’s mentor Mark Sangiao, Kingad’s foe has pulled out of the bout.

“We’ve been all waiting for another Danny Kingad bout but fate is not playing on our side this time,” he said. “From Hexigetu’s camp, something transpired, mothballing their fight.”

Kingad was supposed to have his international stage debut when ONE announced that he was going to fight in an inaugural event in Indonesia last July.

Kingad is looking to extend his unbeaten run in the promotion. He has won six straight since turning professional and then three more when he joined the Asian circuit.

The youngster’s last outing was against Muhammad Aiman in the undercard for Eduard Folayang’s first title defense. Kingad defeated his Malaysian foe en route to a unanimous decision.

“Having said that Kevin (Belingon) and Edward Kelly are forging ahead. (With) them on the card, it’s going to be highly-charged matches,” Sangiao added.
