PBA opens applications for 2017 Rookie Draft
MANILA, Philippines — PBA hopefuls can turn their dreams in to reality as the application for the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft is now open, the league announced Friday.
According to the Commissioner’s Office, the deadline for submission of applications and requirements for Filipino-foreign players is on September 1.
Local-born aspirants, on the other hand, have until October 12 to apply.
The rookie draft is slated on October 29 again at the Robinson’s Place in Ermita, Manila.
After a preliminary list of part-Filipino rookie applicants is released, a monthlong period will be set as a window to contest their eligibility.
Rickie Santos, deputy commissioner for basketball operations, said the Draft Combine is slated between October 23-26. The exact dates and venues are yet to be finalized.
