MACAU — Eric Kelly looked like he was going to beat the older and better-experienced Kotetsu Boku in ONE Championship’s Kings and Conquerors Saturday night.

But that lasted only for a couple of minutes.

Kelly, who was looking to arrest his two-match losing skid, fell to Boku after referee Yuji Shimada stopped the match at the 3:28th mark of the final round.

The 35-year-old fighter from Baguio City unleashed a barrage of strikes rendering the Japanese veteran helpless — to the delight of the Cotai Arena crowd. The latter, though, quickly figured Kelly’s gameplan out.

Boku got his groove going, hitting the Filipino with multiple strikes to the head via his right fist.

The match was ended with Kelly’s back lying flat on the ground.

Kelly’s loss puts the Philippines’  outing at 1-1 with Jomary Torres winning in the preliminaries
