MANILA, Philippines - NLEX and Phoenix hope to sustain their fine start as they seek win No. 3 against Rain or Shine and GlobalPort, respectively, in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight.

After surprising the Alaska Aces, 112-104, and surviving the Kia Picanto, 100-93, the Road Warriors are in for a tougher outing against the Elasto Painters, whom they have not beaten in their two meetings this season.

But Rain or Shine, which nipped GlobalPort, 98-96, last Friday, remains wary of NLEX, owing to its early surge.

The Elasto Painters, led by import JD Weatherspoon, and the Aaron Fuller-reinforced Road Warriors square off at 4:15 p.m. with Guiao also raring to get back at his former team.

The Fuel Masters, on the other hand, hope to make the most of Matthew Wright’s return following an impressive stint with Gilas Cadet in the recent Jones Cup.

Phoenix hurdled its first two matches behind import Eugene Phelps, ripping Kia, 118-105, then stunning Alaska, 95-93. But they will be taking on a GlobalPort side with a new import in Murphy Holloway.
