Waiting game for Kingad, Batolbatol as ONE postpones Indonesia card
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino fighters Danny Kingad and Rocky Batolbatol will have keep on training for a longer time.
ONE Championship announced Friday that their inaugural showcase in Indonesia will have to be rescheduled due to logistical concerns.
Kingad and Batolbatol are set to fight in the card that will be headlined by the clash of Kairat Akhmetov and Adriano Moraes for a flyweight division unification bout this July 29.
The 21-year-old Kingad is supposed to take on Hexi Getu of Mongolia, also for the flyweight division.
Batolbatol, for his part, will be looking to snare his first victory in the promotion after a three-match dry spell. He will be tackling Indonesian Sunoto Peringkat.
But despite the cancellation of the card, ONE is set to mount another in Macau this coming August.
Kingad’s Team Lakay Eric Kelly, Joshua Pacio and lass Jomary Torres out of Catalan Fighting Systems will be seeing action in the “Kings and Conquerors” event slated at the Cotai Arena on Aug. 5. — Denison Rey A. Dalupang
