Bradley: Manny can keep on going

Manny Pacquiao

BRISBANE, Australia – Manny Pacquiao, according to Timothy Bradley, holds the key to the fight.

The American who fought Pacquiao thrice said Thursday that Sunday’s fight at the Suncorp Stadium will end when Pacquiao says so.

It’s really up to Pacquiao.

“For how long Manny wants it to last,” said Bradley at the lobby of Sofitel Hotel.

Bradley, one of only three men to face Pacquiao at least three times inside the ring,  is in town to work and call the fight for ESPN.

“I think Manny will do well in the fight. I think Jeff Horn’s style suits Manny well. Manny will do very well,” he said.

The legend from Panama, former world champion Roberto Duran, is also in town as member of the broadcast team that includes Juan Manuel Marquez.

But Duran has reserved his comment.

“I can’t tell. I have to see the boxers first,” said Duran.

Bradley showed a better picture of the fight, which could be a crucial fight for Pacquiao, who at 38 is trying to extend his stay in the sport.

“Manny still wants to show he’s still fighting young guys and fighting at the highest level. Manny always challenges the younger guys, the undefeated guys,” he said.

Pacquiao said that he’s starting to feel his age, and yet, Bradley thinks he’d seen nothing to think that way.

“Come on, he still can fight. He still has the speed, the power, the reflexes and everything to be at the top of boxing. He can keep going,” said Bradley.

“The first thing that leaves you as a fighter is the reflexes. Manny’s reflexes haven’t gone anywhere. He’s a phenomenal athlete. He can still continue to fight,” Bradley also said.

What happened last November, when Pacquiao faced and defeated the younger Jessie Vargas will happen here in Brisbane.

“It won’t be any different here,” said Bradley.
