MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is doing all it can to help the national men's and women's teams prepare for the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG).
Ricky Palou of the organizing body Sports Vision said during the PSA Forum on Tuesday that Creamline has given Alyssa Valdez the green light to join the Nationals in their 17-day training camp in Japan this July.
Palou also expects the clubs of the players who is part of the men's squad to join their training trip to Korea also on July.
The PVL also shortened the Open Conference, which begins this Saturday at the FilOil Arena in San Juan City, to allow everyone to focus on the biennial meet slated from Aug. 19 to 30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
"The Open Conference will be shorter than the Reinforced Conference because we want to finish before the SEA Games and allow everyone including the fans to concentrate there," said Palou, who was accompanied by Tony Liao and Moying Martelino.
"I also think Creamline will allow Alyssa Valdez to join in Japan and as well as the men's players," he added.
Meanwhile, Xentro Mall will be Perlas' carrying product while Air Force has tapped Hair Fairy.
The other teams are defending champion Pocari Sweat, Bali Pure, Power Smashers and new members Hapee Fresh Fighters and Akari-Adamson.
The men's division, for its part, have drawn eight teams--Air Force, Cignal HD, Megabuilders, Gamboa Coffee, Army, Sta. Elena, Cafe Lupe and Instituto Estetico Manila.
