MANILA, Philippines - Ilocos United snapped a five-game losing streak as it held Davao Aguilas to a scoreless draw in the Philippine Football League last night at Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.

Baba Sampana made crucial saves as the Ilocos defense held sway in the last 20 minutes to steal the point against the host Aguilas and improve to two points.

It was the second straight draw head to head for Ilocos and Davao, which battled to a 1-1 stalemate the first time around over in Vigan.

The Aguilas, who enjoyed 60 percent of possession and had seven shots on target, failed to sustain the momentum from their huge 2-2 stalemate with top-of-the-table FC Meralco Manila last Wednesday.

Davao upped its overall tally to four points, three behind fifth-running Ceres Negros FC.

The Bienvenido Marañon-led Busmen got back on the winning track Saturday night with a 3-1 disposal of Kaya FC Makati at Panaad Park and Stadium.

Marañon blasted a hat-trick as Ceres rebounded from a 1-2 loss to JPV Marikina in its last PFL outing and 0-1 setback to Hougang in the Singapore Cup this week.
