The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring Car Championships holds its second leg on Sunday with the country’s top caliber circuit drivers slugging it out for top honors at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Patrick dela Rosa guns for a repeat of his upset over defending champion Edwin Rodriguez in the event serving as part of the 2017 Philippine Motorsports Championship season sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).

A new class – the PGT Super Super class – will also be introduced in the event sponsored by Yokohama, the official tires and Sparco.

Also on tap are the Philminiracers Classic Mini Racing, Classic Aspirated Cup, the Sparco Bracket Race and the Sparco Cup Grid Race.

Meanwhile, aspiring race car drivers get the chance to live up their dream in the Sparco Track Attack Challenge set tomorrow.

Dela Rosa dished out superb form to beat Rodriguez for the GT200 crown and sweep both the Sprint and the GT Final races in emphatic fashions.

Eduardo Suiza and newcomer Paolo Santos shared the spotlight as they ruled the GT150 and GT100 events.

Joma Montaner also goes for a second consecutive win over Fil Gulfin of Casino Rubbing Alcohol Racing Team in the Classic Aspirated Cup while Rodney Caballero hopes to score a repeat over Jun Mallari and Rick Jason de Guzman in a bid to firm up his lead in the Philminiracers Classic Mini Racing.

Mikko Rayo also tries to make it back-to-back against Fortune Ang and Jevoy Moreno in the Sparco Cup.
