Games tomorrow (Batangas City Convention Center)

 5 p.m. – F2 Logistics vs Sta. Lucia

7 p.m. – Foton vs Petron

MANILA, Philippines - Foton battled back from two sets down to frustrate Generika-Ayala, 19-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-7, last night and keep its unbeaten run in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Tornadoes pounced hard on the Lifesavers’ shaky defense in the third and fourth sets before going for the kill in the decider to notch their fifth straight win and move a victory from sweeping the preliminaries and grabbing the top spot in the crossover quarterfinals.

Jaja Santiago, spearhead of the national women’s team that will campaign in the AVC Asian Senior Women’s Championship and the 29th Southeast Asian Games, had another impressive all-around performance with 19 kills, five aces and two blocks for 26 points.

It was the highest offensive output for the 6-foot-5 Santiago since torching newcomer Cherrylume for 35 points last June 13 in the club tourney bankrolled by Belo, Rebisco and Gold’s Gym with TV5 as official broadcast partner.

EJ Laure also had a big game with 20 points while another national team mainstay in Maika Ortiz chipped in nine markers for the Tornadoes, who started out flat before making some key adjustments in the third sets.
