MANILA, Philippines – Don’t be surprised if the build-up to the massive showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC star Conor McGregor will be more exciting than their actual fight.
Mayweather and McGregor both took to social media to announce their August 26 fight, but it was the latter’s post that stood out.
Being the notorious trash talker that he is, McGregor wasted no time in firing the first of many virtual jabs at Mayweather. In his Twitter post announcing the fight is a go, he used Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s picture instead.

In contrast, Floyd Jr. made the more serious announcement.

Expect McGregor to hurl more tirades at Mayweather throughout the promotion. After all, those might be the only things he can throw at the undefeated boxing genius that is Mayweather.
