MANILA, Philippines – Action in the inaugural Youth Football League (YFL) heats up Saturday with the semifinals matches in the U7, U9, U13 and U17 age groups firing off at Alabang Country Club.

Ceres and Global bring their rivalry over to the YFL’s U17 competition as they face off in the Cup semis. Ceres Youth FC emerged second after the elims with 18 points on six wins and a loss while Global took No. 3 seed with 15 markers (5-0-2) to arrange a Last-4 duel.

Top seed Kaya (21 points on 7-0-0) seeks to sustain its hot form against fourth-ranked Stallion (12 points on 4-0-3) in the other U17 semis showdown.

Over at the U13 competition, unbeaten MSA Agila (21 points) hopes to continue its winning ways in the semis against No. 4 Ceres (12 points) while second-ranked JP Voltes (16 points) and No. 3 Kaya (13) dispute the other finals berth.

Ceres Team A, the U7 top seed that won its first six games with a goal difference of 30, looks to stay spotless in the Last-4 against No. 4 Kaya Team B (nine points) as second-ranked Kaya Team A (15 points) and No. 3 Forza (nine points) engage in the other pairing.

Kaya, the No. 1 team in the U9 after logging 19 points, meanwhile, tangles with No. 4 Loyola Meralco (12 points) even as Nos. 2 and 3 JP Voltes (15 points) and Forza (13 points), respectively, lock horns in their side of the semis.

The YFL is the club-based youth tournament formed by Football Alliance to replace the old United Football League’s Youth League.
