8:30 p.m. – Home United vs Global Cebu FC

MANILA, Philippines - Global Cebu FC guns for a milestone spot in the AFC Cup Asean zone finals as it tangles with Singapore side Home United FC tonight in a make-or-break away game at Jalan Besar Stadium.

After squandering a one-goal lead and settling for a 2-2 draw in the opening leg two weeks ago in the Philippines, the Global booters look to complete the job in the 8:30 p.m. second leg and grab the win to progress to the next stage.

A 3-3 tie will also be enough to push the Philippine club to win the two-leg series on away goal.

“The tournament is (played over) two legs, it means if we don’t get the advantage in the first leg, we still have the chance in the second leg. It’s a do-or-die game for us, especially we’re playing away, but we’re ready,” said Global coach Marjo Allado.

Global keeper Patrick Deyto said the team had already moved on from the first leg gaffe as it eyes a finals berth.

“We’re disappointed in the first leg but we got over it and now we’re moving forward and we’re coming here with a mindset to win,” he said.
