World Slasher resumes with 3-cock semifinals
MANILA, Philippines - Derby action heats up in the World Slasher Cup 2 Invitational 9-cock derby today with the staging of the 3-cock semifinals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Top qualifiers with two victories each in last Thursday’s fights, which drew over 100 local and foreign participants, go for 5-0 (win-loss) cards and a boost to their respective bids in the grand finals on May 31, according to WSC media partner Manny Berbano.
Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists, a Filipino-owned company, is sponsoring the WSC 2 along with Pitgames Media, Petron and Thunderbird.
Leading the two-pointers are Rep. Kulit Alcala (VLA Khulit CC Combine 2), Nene Abello (Raffy Blackwater Pat Bel), Alex Macariola (Roan AVM Diamond), Raffy Campos (Tres Marias), Mayor Tata Yap (King James Aya LDI), Dr. Bel Almojera (Blue Angels), Eddie Linsanga (Y3 Shaq), Tonton Lim (Lucban), Gov. Claude Bautista (CPB AAO);
Aurelio Yee/Edwin Tose (419 NSL 1556), John Gutierrez (Casa Juan Resort), James Uy (JU San Jose), Ito Ynares (NCA Big Event May 30), Rep. Patrick Antonio (Sagupaan T2S 500), Nene Araneta (Thunderbird 2) and Marc Cruz (Tony Zab Mac).
Another semifinal round will be held tomorrow featuring the qualifiers of May 26 elims.
A participant needs only two points after the semifinals to qualify for the finals where big prizes await those who will score a total of six points.
