The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Diliman College snapped a two-game side as it stunned erstwhile unbeaten La Salle, 75-68, while University of the Philippines upended San Beda, 82-78, in the 23rd Fr. Martin Cup summer basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Mendiola recently.

African Adama Diahkite took charge in the fourth quarter, firing 16 of his 33 points in the last 10 minutes as the DC Blue Dragons shocked the Archers to post their first win after back-to-back losses in seniors division in Group A.

It also stopped La Salle’s stirring 4-0 start in the league backed by Armor On Sportswear. Brent Paraiso and Jollo Go combined for 29 points for the Archers.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Outtara shot 20 points as the UP Maroons hacked out a four-point victory over the SBC Red Lions for a 2-0 card in Group B.

In the junior division, University of Santo Tomas routed Manila Patriotic School, 94-77, to even its card at 2-2 with Rhayjun Baquial and Timothy de la Cruz scoring 16 points a piece for the Tiger Cubs.

The National University Bullpups, on the other hand, crushed the Emilio Aguinaldo College Brigadiers, 102-76, to stretch their win run to three.
