Lions face Pirates; Maroons eye 3rd in row vs Generals
MANILA, Philippines - San Beda tests Lyceum of the Philippines U’s mettle even as University of the Philippines seeks to stretch its win run to three against Emilio Aguinaldo College in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup today in San Juan.
The Red Lions tangle with the Pirates at 1:30 p.m. at the Filoil Flying V Center, hoping to draw big games from Jayvee Mocon, Davon Potts, Robert Bolick, Donald Tankoua and Joe Presbitero.
Btu the Pirates are raring to slug it out with the Red Lions with coach Topex Robinson banking on the likes of CJ Perez, Ralph Tansingco and brothers Jayvee and Jaycee Marcelino.
The Maroons, on the other hand, shoot for their third straight win and try to stop a surging EAC side which is coming off an inspiring 76-73 overtime victory over erstwhile unbeaten Adamson the last time out. UP and EAC collide at 3:15 p.m.
The Maroons, however, will have their hands full against the Generals, who boast of Sidney Onwubere and Francis Munsayac, who keyed the Generals’ surprise victory over the fancied Falcons.
In other matches, struggling University of Perpetual Help takes on University of the East at 11:15 a.m. while San Beda battles Lyceum in the lone juniors match at 9:30 a.m.
