Arum: Pacquiao to wow Australia with 'great performance' vs Horn

Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum

MANILA, Philippines – Top Rank Inc. boss Bob Arum vowed that Manny Pacquiao will put on a show in front of fans in Australia this July against Jeff Horn.

Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight title against Horn on July 2 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, the first time the Filipino icon will fight outside the United States since 2014.

Arum stressed Pacquiao’s capability to draw huge crowds wherever he fights.

"Manny has been a pioneer, bringing world title fights to Cowboys Stadium, The Venetian Macao's Cotai Arena and now Suncorp Stadium. We're boxing's version of Lewis & Clark, discovering new markets," said Arum.

Pacquiao though hasn’t seen action in Australia before, and while Horn will enjoy the home court advantage, the Filipino icon remains the heavy favorite to win.

Pacquiao’s camp has said that they are looking to make quick work of Horn, who was virtually unheard off until his name popped up in the news as a potential opponent for the fighting senator.

Arum, for his part, assured fans that Pacquiao will turn in a performance to remember.

"Manny knows who will be the crowd favorite on July 1, but he can't wait to give Australia and the world a great performance,” added the veteran promoter.

“It's going to be unbelievable event."
