5 drug suspects slain

MANILA, Philippines -  Five more suspected drug personalities were killed in Bulacan, Pangasinan and Rizal on Tuesday.

Christopher Timblique, a resident of Barangay Loma de Gato in Marilao, and  Francis Pablo of Barangay Bintog, Plaridel drew their guns at policemen who responded to reports that armed men were roaming around Sitio Laot, Barangay Prenza in Marilao, said Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting director.

Caramat said three guns, a sachet of shabu and a sachet of marijuana leaves were recovered from the fatalities.

Francis Pablo, a resident of  Barangay Bintog in Plaridel, was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Banga 1st.

Police said the fatalities are on the drug watchlist in their respective areas.

In Pangasinan, the body of an unidentified man was found stuffed in a sack and dumped in a golf course in Sitio Bliss, Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City. 

The hands of the victim were tied with masking tape while his body bore stab wounds. A sachet of shabu and a piece of cardboard identifying the victim as a drug pusher were recovered at the scene.

Repair shop owner Sonny dela Calzada, alias Soneng, allegedly opened fire when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents along Felix Avenue in Barangay San Isidro, Cainta.

51 nabbed

Fifty-one other suspects were arrested as the government continued its campaign against illegal drugs.

Businessman Robin Jacob, 25, a resident of Barangay San Francisco, Biñan, Laguna, and his companions Pedro Gonzales, 48; Ariel Arca, 24, and two minors were held at a police checkpoint in Sitio Ampawilen, Sagada, Mountain Province after 18 kilos of 10 marijuana rolls and marijuana bricks with an estimated value of P435,000 were found in their car (WAX-785).
 Twenty-seven were nabbed in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, five each in Albay and Bulacan, seven in Camarines Norte, two in Pangasinan and one each in Camarines Norte and Masbate. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Ric Sapnu, Eva Visperas, Raymund Catindig, Cesar Ramirez, Francis Elevado, Ed Amoroso, Celso Amo, Robertzon Ramirez
