Drug suspect slain, 24 arrested

MANILA, Philippines - Another ”high-value”drug pusher was killed in a sting in Bulacan on Sunday.

Pelagio Legazpi, alias Weng-Weng, reportedly shot it out with anti-drug operatives in Barangay Tambubong in Bocaue. His companion Rolando Legaspi, alias Ameng, was arrested.

Police said 42 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P35,000, a .38-caliber revolver  and drug paraphernalia were recovered from the suspects, who are on the barangay drug watchlist.

P.3-M shabu seized

In Benguet also on Sunday, anti-drug operatives seized more than 60 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P300,000 from Hadjiomar Muna, 26, and Winston Tibangay, 35, in Bauko, Mountain Province.

Mohaimen Ali, 29, and Rudy Sultan, 63, yielded P30,000 worth of shabu in a sting in Upper Market, Camp Allen in Baguio City, police said.

A 17-year-old mobile phone technician was arrested for selling shabu worth P27,500 to an undercover agent in Barangay Irisan also in Baguio City.

Four others, who yielded 15 sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia, were arrested in Barangay Pampang in Angeles City, Pampanga, police said.

Mai Grace Galve, 39,  and five of her alleged cohorts were collared in a sting at a hotel in Barangay Sampaguita in Iloilo City also on Sunday. Police said Galvez is a known drug personality and member of the Beñares-Chua drug ring, which operates in Bacolod City.

Seven others were nabbed in anti-drug operations and raids in Barangay Harrison in Garchitorena and San Nicolas, Iriga City in CamarinesSur; San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan and San Vicente in Angono, Rizal in the past two days.
