20 hurt in bus smashup
MANILA, Philippines - At least 20 people were hurt in a multiple vehicle collision along Elliptical Road in Quezon City yesterday early morning.
Two private cars, a passenger bus, and a taxi figured in the collision at the corner of Elliptical Road and Quezon Avenue in Barangay Central at around 4:30 a.m.
Investigators said a Honda Civic (WEJ-988) driven by Justin Carreon sped towards Quezon Memorial Circle instead of turning right.
It hit the front of a Misagh taxi (UZO-954) driven by Edgar Galarde and hit a Precious Passenger bus (UVM-161).
The bus spun and hit another private vehicle driven by Ferdinand Flores, before turning over due to the impact.
The four drivers and at least 17 passengers of the bus and private vehicles were rushed to two hospitals for treatment.
The smashup snarled traffic in the area and the bus was towed at around 6 a.m.
