Khan insists 'knowing a lot' about Pacquiao, confident of win

MANILA, Philippines – As former stablemates and sparring partners, Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan should know a thing or two about each other.

But for Khan, he claims to be familiar enough with Pacquiao that he’s confident he can beat the Filipino icon.

Pacquiao and Khan reportedly came to terms on Sunday to fight each other on April 23, with the former’s WBO welterweight title at stake.

According to Sport 360, Khan took to Snapchat to give his thoughts on his next assignment.

“The fight is going to be for the WBO title and it’s a fight I know I can win. I know a lot about Manny Pacquiao,” he said.

Khan, who used to train under Freddie Roach, had served as one of Pacquiao’s sparring partners when the boxer was preparing for Shane Mosley in 2011, even flying to Manila to help Pacquiao train.

Now Khan gets a chance to get it on with Pacquiao, still one of the best fighters in the world.

The 30-year-old British fighter, who has Pakistani descent, said they are looking at three countries to stage the fight, despite Pacquiao already sounding so sure that the bout will be held somewhere in the United Arab Emirates.

“There’s a couple of locations we’re looking at. One is UK, one is Dubai and one is in the USA. We should find out in the next couple of days,” he added.
