Various groups to benefit from CIS charity bootfest

CEBU, Philippines - The participants of this year’s Cebu International School Friendship Cup-Kyle Weckman and James Jung Memorial Football Tournament will not only be after about winning, but also help out in raising funds for the benefit of several foundations when the event takes place on March 4-5 at CIS field in Barangauy Pit-os, Cebu City.

The event was established by CIS to foster friendship and help promote Cebu football especially in the grassroots level.

This year, organizers have chosen not just one, but seven non-profit organizations as beneficiaries of the charity event. These are the Cancer Warriors Foundation-Cebu Chapter, Children of Asia Philippines, Gawad Kalinga, Guadix Kiddie Center, Lihuk Panaghiusa, Seed4Com, and Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation.

The categories to be contested are the mixed under 7, 9 and 11, boys 13, 15, 17 and 19 and the combined Inter-BPO/company for the men’s.

In the distaff side, there’s the ladies open and the girls 19.

All classes except the under-7 will follow a seven-a-side format.

Entry fee is pegged at P1,000 for the age groups and P1,500 for the ladies open and Inter-BPO/company. It must paid at the CIS cashier. Those who are interested to join have only until March 1 to register. (FREEMAN)
