Romeo drops season-high 35 points to power GlobalPort over Ginebra

MANILA, Philippines — Reigning PBA scoring champ Terrence Romeo erupted for a season-high 35 points as GlobalPort repulsed Barangay Ginebra, 91-84, to also gain a piece of the lead later in the PBA action Sunday night.
"Terrence is a different breed, he's really a talented player. But if you take a look at how he plays now, he's playing tough defense and he's passing the ball, looking for his teammates. He's slowly evolving into a good all-around player," said GlobalPort coach Franz Pumaren of their star guard.
The Batang Pier guard emptied 15 of his 35 markers all in the fourth to keep the pesky Gin Kings at bay.
The win propels GlobalPort alongside Rain or Shine and San Miguel at the top of the standings.
Barangay Ginebra, who is coming off a championship run in the previous conference, dropped to 1-2.
