UAAP Finals Game 1: Who will draw first blood?
December 3, 2016 | 1:02pm
MANILA, Philippines — The dream finals is on.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles forged a title showdown with the De La Salle Green Archers when they dethroned the FEU Tamaraws, 69-68, Wednesday, November 30, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
While the Archers were heavily tipped to make a trip to the finals, the Eagles came out as the biggest dark horse of the UAAP 79 men's basketball tournament.
In fact, Ateneo dealt their archirvals their lone loss of the elimination round in their secound round encounter last November 5, 83-71.
All statistics point to La Salle as the stronger team, but Ateneo has been peaking at the right time.
Will the Eagles continue their Cinderella run, or will the Archers move closer to their second title in four years?
Tip-off today is at 3 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
