CEBU, Philippines - Three persons, one of whom is a woman, landed in jail after they were allegedly caught in the act of selling shabu during separate buy-bust operations in Cebu City last Saturday.

Around 10 p.m., personnel of San Nicolas Police Station led by Chief Inspector Keith Allen Andaya arrested Sheba Gingosa, 40, a resident of Sitio Lawis in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.

Andaya said they confirmed through surveillance that Gingosa was into illegal drug business which prompted them to launch the operation.

During the buy-bust, a police officer acted as a poseur-buyer who transacted with Gingosa.

Gingosa reportedly handed over a small plastic sachet to the poseur buyer in exchange for P200 as buy-bust money.

After the transaction was consummated, the police then proceeded to the area where the transaction took place and arrested Gingosa.

Police frisked Gingosa for other evidence following her arrest where she yielded a plastic containing four small sachets and two medium sachets of shabu.

Her alleged cohort identified as Alejandro Cabanday, 37, of the same barangay was also arrested after he was caught in the act in possession of three small sachets of shabu.

Gingosa and Cabanday are currently placed under custody of the police pending the filing of criminal complaints for alleged violations of the Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Earlier on the same day, personnel of the San Nicolas Police Station also arrested Edwin Tumulak, 46, of Quijano compound in Barangay Calamba during a buy-bust operation.

Tumulak allegedly handed over a small sachet of shabu in exchange for P100.

He was frisked and yielded another seven small pieces and a medium sachet of suspected shabu.

Nobody was injured during the operation, police said. (FREEMAN)
