Lastimosa goes to NLEX in trade
MANILA, Philippines – NLEX netted on a trade deal with Blackwater combo guard Carlo Lastimosa a few weeks after the arrival of new coach Yeng Guiao and less than a month before the start of PBA Season 42 on Nov. 20.
The Road Warriors, a team badly in need of a scoring guard/small forward, is to acquire Lastimosa from the Elite camp in exchange for James Forrester and a future draft pick.
The deal is still subject to the approval of PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa, though.
Lastimosa, No. 20 draft pick by Barako Bull in 2013, is coming off breakthrough year in the pro league where he emerged the Elite’s leading scorer with an average of 18.0 points per game. He was good for only 5.1 points a game in 2014 and 6.9 in 2015.
It was a good year where he became an All-Star player and contended for the Mythical Selection.
Forrester was No. 4 pick by Ginebra in the same draft class. But the former Arellano U standout has remained in search of green pasture in pro play.
He’s played only 29 games in three PBA seasons.
