McGregor fuels hopes for Mayweather fight

MANILA, Philippines – A fight between UFC star Conor McGregor and retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. still isn’t out of the question.
Talking to TMZ Sports in a chance encounter, McGregor may have rekindled whatever fire that's left in the dream clash.
Last May, TMZ reported that Mayweather has a $50 million offer to McGregor for a New Year's Day eve fight. But since the Irish fighter is under the UFC, he can't call the shots.
That is a stark contrast to the situation over at Mayweather's camp.
“I’m loving retirement, but for a couple more bucks you just don’t know,” the American boxer told Yahoo! Sports.
“Within my company, I’m the boss,” he added. “I call the shots."
Who knows, maybe two receptive voices can convince UFC boss Dana White.
