Lyceum, PCU repel foes, gain NAASCU quarters

MANILA, Philippines - Lyceum of Subic Bay blasted Manuel L. Quezon University, 100-69, while Philippine Christian University turned back De Ocampo Memorial College, 96-94, in overtime as they barged into the quarterfinal round of the 16th NAASCU men’s basketball tournament at the RTU gym in Mandaluyong yesterday.

Edcel Saludo and Kevin Pelaez combined with Cameroonian Pabrice Djilla as Lyceum dismantled the MLQU side to arrange a Last 8 duel with the Philippine Merchant Marine School tomorrow.
PCU later hung tough to oust De Ocampo Memorial College in a thrilling duel to seal a quarters clash with Enderun College.

PMMS and Enderun enjoy twice-to-beat advantage over their respective rivals.

Saludo finished with 18 points while Pelaez added 17 markers for the Sharks who also drew 16 points and 19 rebounds from the 6-10 Djilla.

Jaymark Mallari and Chris Bitoon scored 20 and 17 points, respectively, for the Stallions.
