MANILA, Philippines – Add 6-foot-5 basketball prospect Christian David to the growing list of players with Filipino blood trying to make a name in the international basketball scene.
International basketball writer Enzo Flojo took to Twitter to share the news.
The Filipino-Canadian committed to play for the Butler University in Indiana. Four more schools tried to acquire his services: Creighton, Miami FL, Oregon and Pittsburgh.
David first caught attention when he was named the Most Valuable player of the North Pole Hoops Showcase in Toronto three years ago.
He produced 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the all-star game.
He packed his bags from Bishop Reding in Ontario and played for Vermont Academy for two years.
David is currently ranked as the second top Canadian prospect of his class. His well-rounded game and body built for basketball made him a top choice among universities.
