PBA mulls separate draft for Gilas 5.0 prospects

MANILA, Philippines – Ticklish issues on the coming Rookie Draft are likely to be tackled as the PBA board of governors convenes in a meeting Thursday.

The No. 1 issue is how to deal with prospective players of Gilas Pilipinas 5.0. One proposal is to hold a separate draft for these players likely to be bannered by Mac Belo, Kevin Ferrer and Mike Tolomia.

Meanwhile, Macmac Cardona has been transferred from Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Pinas to Makati Medical Center, a company under the MVP Group.

“The management will continue to provide whatever assistance he may need during his recovery,” said NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre of Cardona who needed hospitalization after an overdose of pills.
